Joining INTEGRTR
I became part of INTEGRTR in mid-2019 as a UI Developer, focusing on OpenUI5 and JavaScript. My journey with INTEGRTR has been both long and memorable, marked by significant growth and learning. A highlight of this experience is the INTEGRTR Fellowship Program Experience, a standout policy among the company’s many benefits. This program has provided valuable opportunities, including the chance to travel and work at INTEGRTR’s German office.
The Fellowship Program
This enables employees to travel to Germany to experience working at INTEGRTR’s German office and explore a new country and culture. It is particularly beneficial for employees working on non-customer-facing projects, as these projects often lack travel opportunities. As a start-up in India, such travel opportunities are rare, considering the domain and the role I am in.
The Opportunity
In May 2024, INTEGRTR decided that I would be the person taking advantage of this opportunity, granting me a four-week trip to Germany. These four weeks were filled with new experiences, learning about cultural differences, and engaging in insightful discussions.
Events and Learning
I started my trip with UI5Con and re-CAP events. As one of the speakers at UI5Con (an event by SAP focused on OpenUI5), I had the opportunity to attend both UI5Con and re-CAP. These events were amazing and provided me with a wealth of knowledge about SAP’s JavaScript realm.
INTEGRTR Products and Client Interaction
The latter part of the trip was focused on INTEGRTR products, people, and customers. I visited a major client at their site and participated in product demos and feedback sessions. It was a great experience to meet people and receive feedback on the products I have worked on.
Exceptional Hospitality
Our INTEGRTR German team members ensured my four-week stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From staying in a prime location with all necessities to travel arrangements and providing every bit of information needed, they made sure I faced no inconveniences. Since we are a remote company, most of us work from our homes. However, during my visit, colleagues were kind enough to visit the office and hang out with me.
Cultural Insights Gained During the INTEGRTR Fellowship Program Experience
Some of my best memories include traveling on Deutsche Bahn, getting accustomed to sparkling water, observing the amazing civic sense among people, attention to accessibility in everything, and enjoying unique walking tours at various tourist spots.
Conclusion
Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I want to give a big shout-out to INTEGRTR for providing this opportunity. I look forward to bringing all the new learnings to our upcoming endeavors.
